The cushion doesn't break down after a couple months of hard usage and it is actually thick enough to make a difference (for those that are going to spend hours upon hours sitting at a desk).
The contours are visually annoying since they are shaped to have your legs together and pointing straight a head, but even when you sit in a less glamorous manner (legs apart) the contours do not become uncomfortable.
If I was going to purchase a seat cushion for someone I really cared about, this is the one I would pick out of all the others I have tried.
